In this lesson I teach you the tune "Back Home Again In Indiana". My arrangement is in a "Western Swing" style, and is really really fun to play!! This lesson includes 2 videos. One video is the teaching portion, where I go phrase by phrase and show you the left hand then the right hand and give insight into good technique. The second video has NO TEACHING, it's just me playing the tune all the way through very slowly at first 110 bpm then at 130, 150, 170, 180, and finally 200 bpm or (beats per minute). It's because when I'm soloing or just making stuff up over a tune, I think of ROLLS as the Bricks and MY FILLER LICKS as the Mortar. This lesson covers 5 Great Filler Licks that works over G, C, or D chords, 6 Movable Licks, and a great new set of really useful Rolls. All you need to do is just "CUT AND PASTE" these Filler Licks and Rolls and whatever order you want, keep good rhythm, and make sure you change when the chord changes, and before too long you sound like you know what you're doing! This is part two of a series of Dobro® Solos, over a common chord progression in the Key of F major. As well as showing you exactly what I'm playing, I also explain how each lick fits over the chord. This video covers 2 different styles of solos or breaks over the same chord progression. One style is more of a modern style using fast licks and Banjo rolls, the second style is more of a Classic Dobro® Style using double stops and slides higher up on the neck of your instrument.

This is an original tune that I wrote called "THE PHOENIX". It's a fun little tune in the Key of G Minor. Lots of really great chords in this one too! It basically has 2 parts. The first part is in 3/4 or waltz time and then the 2nd part goes to 4/4 time and has lots of great Hammer Ons and Pull Offs, and a technique called "String Skipping".

I really love to play this one, and hope you will too. It's a challenging yet really rewarding piece. Lots of licks and chords to really work on cleaning up your playing.
